Lyrics
How can these optimists be real and forget what we deserve? This is no ordinary deal It’s time for a love crash Can I just sit you down and wait Before you commit yourself Don’t let the horses bolt the gate It’s time for a crap wash
It’s a shame but it’s my god to honest truth That I am bound beneath my heart It beats for you If you only show me one good piece of news Make it that you are the one that says you do
Let’s read reports of and let’s decide, but consume it away from here Can you stop shaking and roll the dice? I’m getting older by the year It’s influence and honesty That we can’t let lovers lie Can you please stay and live with me? I think you’re making me die
I need you now I feel you now It’s only love It’s not enough
And time will tell if we can dwell Let’s not waste time Say you’ll be mine
We are young at heart We’re not made to part Let’s restart Let’s do what we can Let’s obey the fans I’m no little man
Background
I always felt out of place being a single person. I love the connections I had with other people but always wanted something stronger to hold with someone.
This story asks potential suitors “what’s wrong with me?”.
It’s an old song written as a mock to In the Name of the Wee Man - the last track on Biffy’s Ellipsis album, and an absolute smasher and return to the original sound that defined young Biffy back in the day. The name is a heavy nod to it.
